Vegan Cuts Snack Box: May 2018

assorted vegan snacks

My Vegan Cuts snack box subscription runs through November, and May’s box is pretty hefty. I laughed when I saw the Vegan White Cheddar Hippeas because I bought a bag of them previously in the day. Needless to say, I’m a fan of Hippeas, and my favorite flavor is Sriracha Sunshine.

Since I’m kind of a caffeine junky, I’ve tried Eat Your Coffee a few times. They’re caffeinated snack bars, and the couple flavors I’ve had were delicious. The Sheffa Dark Chocolate Granola Bar is crunchier than I expected, but it’s not super sweet or chocolately, which I like. The Sunny Fruit Dried Apricots are soft and not chewy – a nice little sweet treat. I have no thoughts to offer about the olives because olives make me want to puke. The Soylent Chai is great! It’s not very thick and it’s spiced perfectly.

I feel like more and more products promoting protein are coming through the snack boxes, so if you’re someone who works out a lot, the snack boxes could be a helpful way to find new protein products. The Ready Nutrition Protein Puffs have a pea protein base which gives it a funky after taste. I’ve noticed the same thing with other pea protein products I’ve had, like Halo Top ice cream and Trader Joe’s Vanilla Almond Spiced Chai. I’ll take I Heart Keenwah’s Sweet Chili Quinoa Puffs any day over these. Their puffs are spicier and don’t have a weird after taste.

It was nice to get this Partially Popped Popcorn because I’ve received sorghum-based popcorn quite a few times and I think they’re garbage. If you’ve had roasted chickpeas, these are pretty similar and are a great crunchy snack. If you love dill, then you should definitely try these.

This is the first time I’ve tried Unisoy’s vegan jerky and it reminds me of Primal Strips, only drier. The flavor is good but I’m not a fan of the texture of either brand. And maybe I’m biased, but The Herbivorous Butcher’s Salt N’ Peppa Jerky is the best.

Protes are another pea protein snack, so you might be able to guess how I feel about these. If you’re looking for vegan nacho chips, I’d recommend Beanfields. For spicy food lovers, get your hands on the Beanfields Jalapeño Nacho chips ASAP.

The Vegan Cuts snack boxes usually come with a few little things, like the tea and the moringa powder, and sometimes there are coupons. There’s also a beauty box along with other options. If you’re not sure about subscribing, you can order one box and see how you like it. Let me know if you have any questions about my subscription!
